Well its been a good while since I posted anything. I have been super busy with my Job which is going very well. I havee been doing a whole host of things, branding, marketing, illustration, web design, stationary etc. This is just a little snippet of what i have been up to. I will have a tone more up as soon as I get the go ahead from the boss. Cant really put anything up until its had the all clear from clients and what not.
The examples here are from a company called Flora Dora, the owners bought a load of pattern designs from a deceased artist. The patterns were designed from the 40's right through to the 70's, over 200 in all. Flor Dora are having the patterns printed on material and using them to re-furbish furniature and turn them into bespoke pieces. As well as selling the textiles by the roll. So we had to come up with the look and feel, the logo, strapline and all associated elements. So we decided to create a world of patterns to illustrate how the patterns can be applied to anything. The website is soon to follow, as are a few others, just waiting for them to be coded.

Got a blue ray player on the way too, and should be sorting out a bed and sofa in a few days. Anyway, may not see many of you before I finally move back to a warmer climate
(south england) So farewell to all, good luck with jobs and what not, If your in my area look me up and we can grab a beer or something. And for those who actually read this blog, you will probably hear from me in a few days.

An illustration for creative magazine 'Anorak' created by Nichola Ridings. The archetypal trainspotter is the basis for calling someone an anorak, which basically means that they obsess over a passion or hobby. I thought this would be perfect for the magazine.

When the topic 'detective' came up I immediately thought of two great figures; Batman and Sherlock Holmes, and since I couldnt decided between the two i thought to my self, " I wonder what would happen if they were the same person?".

I know I said I was pretty much done with this one but the more I looked at the previous one the more I felt I was being too conservative. I got the old sketch book an pens out and whipped this one up. I feel a lot more happy with it as it incorporates a lot of original elements that I sketched in the first place but dropped as I thought they were a bit to quirky for the book. Let me know what you think.

Another installment for my ongoing illustration project. This weeks theme was 'muddy'. Rather than take this literally I created an image based on the legendary blues musician Muddy Waters. I took an analogue approach this time to step away from the digital onslaught, it was refreshing to do something physical with my hands.
