Slight changes

made a slight change, its not that obvious but some of the type was slightly off, to be honest something still isnt right with it, I think it is the angle of 'knitting' compared to the body copy.

The knitting club

The latest installment of my affiliation with the Cecil Street Project. Its a knitting club (obviously) and for some reason which I still havnt figured out, I thought it would be fun to have some bird type creatures having a go at a ball of wool?
Anyways, hope you like it. Stay tuned for more.

Speak easy october

I have managed to keep on top of things an got the next speak easy poster done ahead of schedule. Its a nice feeling, one I am not too familiar with, but I want to experience more often. I have quite a lot of work to plough through, but I suppose I cant  complain, Its good to be doing something.

Barnstorming roots poster

Just finished doing a poster for the brickyard. The gig is called 'Barnstorming Roots Music', a wonderful blend of country folk rock. However, the final poster is in a bit of a dispute, the first version is the one I sent in (actually the second submission after some changes were called for) and the second is the result of further changes that were asked for. But I am still undecided which version I prefer. Not a lot I can do though as the second version is the one they want.

Happy new Home

My girlfriends sister has just moved into her first home and so another chance to indulge myself and make a card. The first idea that popped into my head was too predictable (involved a house and some gift wrap) too close to a cliche for my liking. So then this came out of nowhere, I ran with it and I am fairly happy with it. A few things I would like to tweak but nothing major really.

Birthday Card for Logan

For those of you who don't already know, I have a son called Logan and it was his 1st birthday on the 1st of August. I spent a very long time trawling around the shops trying to find the right card for him but to no avail. So I made one myself and have to say I am very happy with how it came out. I like designing cards, they are fun and can be about absolutely anything, a great way to keep the mind busy.

Some more from the CSP

Another poster for the Cecil Street Project. Trying to indulge and utilise the victorian theme without over egging it....... and i really like birds.

The cecil street project

I have been asked to produce some promotional work for the 'Cecil street project', which is a sweet arts venue in carlisle. The entire inside of the building is kitted out to look like an old victorian street, complete with  vintage street signs. You should go check it out and show some support.

Business card (work in progress)

Unfinished. Business card idea for a photography student just graduated from the University of Derby. There degree show has just opened, running for a week, go check it out.

Le Futur De La Conception Graphique

Been trying to occupy my time over the summer, working on my illustration, bit of experimentation, some jiggery pockery and what not.
The idea behind this one is that with the advancement of technology, people are becoming less and less involved physically with design and just rely on the computer to do all the work for them. At what point does the designer become redundant?

As Lovers Go

Having spent all day in the studio working on the packaging project, i found my mind starting to wander at about 3pm and this was the end result. Not sure where it came from, but i have an idea to expand it into a short story, check back soon to see how it goes.
